News: The Assiniboine Park Conservancy removed the Ten Commandments monument in 2017 in order to create a $130 million indoor horticultural attraction. The monument was placed in storage. Conservancy spokeswoman Laura Cabak said: “We have considered this issue very carefully, in light of the recent debate over historical landmarks, and believe that relocating the monument may make the park less welcoming to some members of our community.”
